Dr. Kirsten Tunstill

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BSc BVMS (hons))

Kirsten established Wheatbelt Mobile Veterinary Services in 1994. It was initially run as a mobile service and as demand grew and permanent facilities were established it became Wheatbelt Vet Services Pty Ltd and operates full time. Kirsten is married to Andrew a long suffering vet's husband. They live on and run a wheat and sheep farm and Poll Dorset stud. Their family includes 3 grown children, 4 dogs, including Fergus the Irish Wolfhound and clinic blood donor and 3 cats and poultry too numerous to mention. Kirsten enjoys the hectic pace of a country practice and being a part of the special bond between pets and their owners. Kirsten's special interests are soft tissue surgery and sheep herd health.

Sonya Thomas

Practice Manager

Sonya moved to Wongan Hills in 1992 and has been working for Wheatbelt Vet Services since 1999.

She started as an all rounder, then became head receptionist and is now our practice manager.

She loves the challenge of the admin side of the business as well as seeing and helping with the animals that come through our doors.

At home Sonya lives with her husband and her animals including 2 cats, 1 dog, chooks, piqeons, parrots, and fish. Sonya enjoys her garden, also sewing rugs and dog coats.

Dr. Hannah Morcombe

Veterinarian (BSc BVMS)

Hannah has been with Wheatbelt Vets since 2019 and has since started running her own branch clinic in Jurien Bay and surrounding towns.

Hannah graduated in 2016 and has enjoyed working in WA on a variety of animals but is glad to settle down in Jurien Bay to provide a service to her local community.

Her special interests include ovine herd health, preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery.

She loves to spend her time with Cat Stevens her Burmese, Boris and Wren her two Border Collies and Sarbi her horse.

You may also see her on the weekends getting involved with hockey in Jurien Bay and tennis in Badgy.

Rebecca Hood

Head Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Rebecca started working at Wheatbelt Vet Services in Dalwallinu in 2009 after spending 2 weeks doing work experience with the team in year 11.

Since then, she has qualified with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and become our head nurse.

During her time working with us, she has married a local farmer from Ballidu and started a family with children and animals.

Rebecca enjoys all aspects of her job even though it can be very messy at times.

The fast pace and challenge of emergencies are something she loves and the unpredictability of working with small and large animals.

Dr Jonique Diamond

Veterinarian (BScDVM)

Jonique graduated from Murdoch University in 2022 and soon after started at the Wheatbelt Vet in Wongan Hills and Dalwallinu.

Originally from Perth, Jonique has always wanted to live rurally which facilitated her move to Wongan Hills and she has enjoyed settling into the country lifestyle.

Jonique has a keen interest in all animals, large and small but particularly loves seeing Equine cases and of course puppies!

When’s she not at the clinic, you may spot her in town or out and about with her Sharpie X dog Cruiser.

Dr Hannah Beadle

Veterinarian (BScDVM)

Dr Beadle was born and raised in Broome in WA’s remote Kimberley region. She made the big move to Perth in 2018 to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian, graduating from Murdoch University in 2022.

Hannah recently joined our Jurien Bay team and has loved being back in a small coastal town.

She enjoys small animal medicine and bovine herd health.

Outside of work, Hannah loves camping, baking, and spending time with her German Shorthaired Pointer, Garry.

Denise Allan

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Denise is a mother of 2 in the town of Pithara. Denise has been our receptionist in the Dalwallinu clinic since early 2015 and is very versatile and willing to learn what goes on out of the office which is great. She loves seeing all the animals that walk through our doors and has a pussy cat and a staffy at home so is very much in love with that breed in particular. She has now begun her veterinary nursing studies.

Kristina Martin

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Kristina is our resident veterinary nurse over at our Jurien Bay branch, she has been with us since November 2019.

She previously was employed as a Pharmacy assistant in Jurien Bay, so she is already very knowledgeable about medications and common treatments for humans and animals.

So far she has been loving the career change and getting to your all your animals!

She loves spending time with her husband, two kids - making the most of the lifestyle that Jurien has to offer.

Miss Hannah Hasson

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Hannah is a local who was raised on her family farm in Ballidu.

She is currently studying a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at TAFE, just recently graduated in 2022 she is one of our newer employees.

From the beginning Hannah has quickly shown interest in all aspects of her job and will take on anything she is thrown. She likes the laboratory side of things and likes seeing the things you can’t see with the human eye.

Hannah loves to take her little naughty sausage dog Louie on her adventures.

Hannah will often be found on the hockey field or having a hit of tennis.

Mylita Levings

Receptionist

Paula Castle

Receptionist

I am originally from Bunbury where I spent most of my free time out on friend and family's farms or down at the local riding school, cause when I grew up all I wanted to do was work on a farm or become a mounted police officer hehehe. My Dad's family are farmers from down Alexandra Bridge so animals and farming are in the blood.

I left Bunbury when I was 18yr and moved to Perth for a bit. I then got the travel bug and moved to Qld for a year then the UK for 5 yrs.

After travelling, I settled back in Perth where I worked part-time in retail and raised my 3 boys. While raising my boys I fostered for the RSPCA as it was a great opportunity to have so many different animals come into our lives and loved to be able to care and rehabilitate them, so they could find there for ever homes.

My kids loved it as there was never a dull moment, they got to see, cuddle and learn about so many different animals. It was the best job ever. We did that for about 10 years. Now my boys are 21yr, 18yr & 16yr and currently live in Perth.

I have moved to Wongan Hills to be with my partner and was lucky enough to become the receptionist at Wheatbelt Vets, so I can continue to help animals and give them all the cuddles in the world.

Amber Robinson

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Renae Prime

Receptionist

Mrs Renae Prime has recently joined the Jurien Bay clinic a couple of days, a fortnight in reception. We are so grateful to have her.

Renae enjoys spending time with her husband Clint and their three children.

They have a Rhodesian Ridgeback Sheba.

Renae loves playing sport, baking and reading a good book in her spare time.

Renae is pictured with Coco who unfortunately suffered a fractured leg during a farm accident and required her hind leg to be amputated. Coco is embracing her new life on three legs and not bothered at all by the transition.
